Being Still....Day 9

So, this morning, I got up and knew it was going to be a busy one.  I did my quick Psalm 46 reading, and today was one that God knows only 3 minutes of genuine time is what I had.  So, I prayed, and felt like I was ready for the day.

I got the kiddos ready, cleaned up breakfast, got a load of laundry in and then it was time for my shower.

As I was in the shower, a song popped into my head,  Matt Maher's "Lord I need you" (Click on the title to see the youtube video, it's pretty awesome).   So, right there in the shower, I began to sing it, and then one song led to another and before I knew it, my whole 20 minute shower was spent worshipping God.

I love that God will meet me anywhere, even in my busy day, when the only time I have to truly be alone with Him is in the shower.  I appreciate that when I am truly seeking Him, even in my crazy day, He finds me.

So, if you're in a place in your day when you don't feel like you have any time, or 3 minutes is all you can really sincerely give to God, please don't forget that He will meet you anywhere.  He will meet you in the car while you're driving your kiddos to all their activities, He will meet you in the kitchen as you prepare dinner, He will meet you on the couch after a long day.

The catch? You have to seek Him.  He wants us to spend time with Him.  He is the one who has given us all of these amazing blessings in the form of jobs, kids, and husbands and He wants us to work hard to serve Him, by serving them.

If you're working hard, keep seeking God, He will meet you right there in the middle of your work! Take 3 minutes of sincerity in your heart to speak with God today, but also SEEK Him in other ways, even if that means just singing some praise songs while sweeping your floor or feeding your baby.

Here is the 46th Psalm.

Psalm 46

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth.[b] A song.

God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
    and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
    and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
    the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
    God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
    he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come and see what the Lord has done,
    the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease
    to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
    he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.
